New technology is allowing rangers to receive text messages based on a historic marauding elephant's location when it's heading toward farmer's crops and are able to intercept it and turn it around. Such intervention teaches the rest of the herd to not do it as well as save the livelihoods of farmers and the lives of elephants who in the past might have been shot.

The elephants must have huge and strong cell phones to be able to message on them, because their "fingers" are rather large!
