Three inmates escape in prison car

AAP

November 07, 2007 05:03pm

THREE prisoners stole a car they were cleaning to escape from a minimum security prison in Perth, police say.

A ground and aerial search has begun for the three men after they escaped from Wooroloo Prison Farm, 55km east of Perth, at around 8.55 (WDT) this morning.

Police said they believe the men were cleaning a prison Toyota Landcruiser which they then used to flee.

Benjamin Franklin Hansen, 23, Derek Ross Humes, 23, and Greg Henry Morris Marsden, 28, were last seen driving south on Roe Highway.

Police are warning friends, family and associates of the men they could be arrested for aiding or harbouring the escapees.

The public is being cautioned not to approach the men and urged to contact police if they are spotted.
