A Roosevelt High School football coach who was allegedly involved in a sideline fight at a game Tuesday will not return to his position as a chemistry teacher.
Chad Swingert, 32, head coach of the Roosevelt freshman football team, resigned from his coaching position, as did the other coach involved in the alleged fight, Ryan McCracken, 23. Both men had been asked to resign.
Kathie Danielson, principal at Roosevelt, said Saturday that Swingert will not return to the school as a teacher either, but said she couldn't say whether Swingert resigned that position as well.

Danielson said McCracken was not a teacher.
McCracken said Swingert became angry after a play resulted in an interception at a Tuesday night game at Hoover High School.
Swingert reportedly began screaming at McCracken and acted like he was going to hit McCracken, a police report said.
When McCracken responded with profanity, Swingert allegedly choked him.
Swingert denied choking McCracken when asked by police but said he had to put one hand on McCracken's chest and the other on his neck to push him away.
No charges have yet been filed, but McCracken told police he wanted to press charges.
