It was a communication issue. They confused "knocked off" with "layed off".

You have to love these school bus drivers. They get lost and drive around for hours or just dump a child on the street because it is the end of their route. It is so sad that the district can't enforce a minimum intelligence level requirement.

PETA people are just plain WEIRD!
