Some kids are so unruly they require discipline to get them under control. I'm not a corporal punishment person but I am positive that better discipline in our schools would allow our children to learn more. As it is, the kids of the last 40 years are UNDER educated and schools have had to be dumbed down for them to "get the lessons." I've read that a college degree today is equivalent to a high school education of 50 years ago.
Are the kids stupid or are they so unruly they don't learn. I have a suspicion they are not as bright. You tell me.
This is in Japan, not the US. Did you read the story?
You know what, I think we should *all* use corporal punishment! Yay! Clerk at the bank rude to you? Slap her! That customer at the restaurant being nasty and making too many unreasonable demands? Back-hand him! If it's good enough for children it's good enough for adults!

I wonder what would happen to a student who caught the chair and threw it back at him?
