The offices of congressman and ex-presidential candidate Duncan Hunter contacted our embassy in Chad to request they arrange a visit to the country to 1) go big game hunting for wildebeest and 2) distribute the meat to the Darfur refugees in the country. Several problems with the request: Our embassy there is too small for such arrangements, the country doesn't allow big game hunting, three are no wildebeests in Chad and any relief efforts should be coordinated with the World Food Program. The congressman said, in effect, never mind then, I'll go hunt somewhere else.
