Ducks have been disappearing from the local pond. One was found in a woman's car trunk after she and her kids had been playing with it at the water's edge. Her rationale: they wanted to take it home as a pet. She received a citation and fine; the local government is considering making such a theft a misdemeanor; and the duck is happily swimming around his pond.
