The City Council of Berkeley, California has passed and proposed to voters a zoning amendment requiring military recruitment offices to comply with regulations that most municipalities impose on adult bookstores: special permission from the city, stay 600 feet from schools, parks, and churches, etc. It won't survive the expected Supremacy Clause challenge, but it does indicate the attitude of the Land of Fruits and Nuts.

So serving in the military is somehow perverse? Service to the nation should be honored, not ridiculed. Just because some officials don't believe in public service (which, from a politician, is to be expected), does not mean the public does not. To me, this shows the idiocy of the government, at least in certain parts of California...more if you believe the last line about others calling to try to duplicate this.
