Not really a story of the dangers of navel piercings so much as the dangers of improperly worn seat belts. If her safety belt had been across her hips and snug instead of across her belly she wouldn't have had any trouble. I have several family members in emergency medical and I have been told you are almost better off without a safety belt rather than wearing it improperly. The safety belt alone can cause irreparable damage to your internal organs.
