Paul and Michele MacGregor believe their son's school principal should be accountable to parents. But "The implications of [their] website are that Susan Reed is incompetent, lazy, stubborn, unfair, unreasonable, critical, rude and does not act in the best interests of her students" -- so the school board is suing them.

Just so they don't feel alone, our School Board is also stupid and ignorant, not to mention unable to apply critical thinking skills.

What is it with these school boards? Ours was fired by the Department of Education and replaced by one man ( who is doing a lot better than the board).

This is a SLAPP lawsuit, plain and simple. England has laws to fight them and seek summary judgments to award defendants legal costs as a result of these abuses of the legal system. And depending on the specifics of the BoE's actions (not fully or reliably documented in the article) it may also be excellent fodder for an Anti-SLAPP response suit to seek punitive damages against the BoE.
Nothing motivates a BoE into firing a very bad principal more than a big sting in their pocket book.
