I preferred the shorter version found on the Newsday AP site: http://newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/wire/sns-ap-odd-exploding-mower,0,1748182.story . OK...I can see a lawn mower with some dried grass or dust in the engine or some spilled fuel bursting into flames. But to try to throw a can of gasoline out a window...and MISSING!...while a wide-open garage door is there...strikes me as really idiotic.
The AP story is based on the story I linked -- so indeed the part about her throwing the gas can is there.
