Because he was talking on his cell phone, Scott didn't hear the train coming; and completely forgetting the "Stop. Look. Listen." taught to all children at an early age, he stepped in front of the train with predictable results.

What is amazing is that he was aware enough to avoid one train, but stupid enough to get in front of the second! I really feel sorry for the poor engineer! You know that he or she must have nightmares about idiots doing just that.

A Darwin Award candidate?
That poor engineer knows that he could do nothing to prevent the hit but is probably pondering anyway if he could have avoided it in some way.
