Golfer at Eagle Ridge Golf Course in Gilroy, California hit a ball into the rough and found an injured golden eagle in the course of his search. The eagle's leg was dislocated and it couldn't push to take off; veterinarians suspect multiple injuries, including a probable impact with a golf ball based on a divit on the bone seen by x-ray. Now named Orion, the bird's leg is unbendable, but he can stand on both legs; Orion will be used as an educational raptor and has an expected lifespan of 30-40 years.

A bad shot for him but he still got an eagle on that hole. For the eagle it was a good shot. May Orion live long and prosper!
