Firemen have been accused of putting lives at risk by "cruising" around a city centre looking for girls. A Taxi drive filmed the crews on his mobile phone and has written to Iain Bathgate, the chief fire officer, expressing his concerns at the behaviour and the risk to the public.
The taxi driver, who declined to be named, said: "In my view, it's a total waste of taxpayers' money. I saw firemen get these women up into the cab.
"They are going round town getting whistled at by women and they are hanging out the windows of the fire engines. It's absolutely scandalous.
"To my mind it's an outrage because if a fire breaks out where are they? Stuck in the centre of town where it's busy.
