The Royal Canadian Mint has decided to claim ownership of the term 'one cent', and has demanded that the City of Toronto pay $47,680 in royalties, for it's recent "One Cent of the GST" campaign. The campaign is public education, advocating on behalf of all Canadian municipalities.

Hey, that's a good idea! Hereafter I demand ten cents every time someone uses the word sixteen, because it's so close to my name. And if it is written with a capital S, then I demand ten cents more.

I find it funny that the City of Toronto has a Deficit and wouldn't be able to pay anyway, the Royal Canadian Mint? you've got to be kidding!
