The kid is old enough to be on solid food and should have been weaned from breast feeding by now.
Actually, a child is old enough to start solids at 4 months, but it is recommended that breastfeeding continue in some fashion until *at least* 2 years of age (that is the recommendation in Australia).
My son still has a bottle at 22 months.
