DNA testing freed a Dallas inmate after severving 27 years of a 99 year sentence. Dallas leads the nation in counties that have freed inmates on DNA evidence, Texas leads with 30 inmates released since 2001 (SIX YEARS).

If he averaged only $7/hour and a 40-hour week over 27 years, and saved not one penny, the state owes him $355,352.40--and this is based on take-home pay.
Yet another reason I'm not in favor of the death penalty.
